Chilli Chicken is Indo Chinese Dish made by Marinating Chicken in sauces and deep fry(here i have not deep fried) and then tossed with chillies and sauces .
I love chicken and I love Indo Chinese dishes.. So what more I can wish on friday dinner :)..
So here comes Chilli Chicken...
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
Marinate:
Step 1:
250-300 gms of boneless chicken cut into pieces
4 Cup Salted Water
Step 2:
1 Tbsp Soya Sauce
1 Tbsp Chilli Sauce
1 tsp Pepper Powder(Freshly powdered Pepper tastes good)
Salt to taste
Coating and Frying:
1 Tbsp Oil
1 Tbsp Corn Flour
1 Tbsp All purpose Flour/ Maida
Sauce:
1 Tbsp Oil
1 Tbsp Garlic(finely chopped)
4 Green Chilies(cut length wise)
1 Onion (Cubed pieces)
3/4 Capsicum(green/red/yellow)(cut length wise)
1 Tbsp White Vinegar
1 Tbsp Soya Sauce
1 tsp Pepper Powder(Freshly powdered Pepper tastes good)
2 Tbsp Water(optional)
1/2 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Red Chilly flakes(optional)
1 tsp Red Chilly Powder
1 tsp Corn flour mixed with 4 tsps water(optional)
Spring onions for garnish
Method:
1.Take Salted water in a bowl and marinate chicken for 3 to 4 hours. This Step is optional.
This step makes chicken tender and juicy. Remove Chicken from salted water.
2.Take all the ingredients under step 2 and marinate chicken for 1 hour or more.
3.Now coat the chicken pieces with corn flour and Maida.
4.Heat oil in a wide pan. when oil is hot add coated chicken pieces. saute and cook till chicken is cooked.
use 1 tbsp water if required to cook chicken. Keep Chicken aside.
Lets make the sauce in the same pan.
1.Heat Oil, when hot add garlic and green chillies till garlic turns brown.
2.Now add onion and saute till it becomes brown and then add capsicum and roast till it is done.
3.Now add soya sauce,vinegar,pepper powder,water(if required) if it becomes too dry.
4.Add sugar and chilly flakes and chilly powder and mix well.
5.Now add chicken and coat with sauces. Add corn flour mixture if you want to thicken sauce.
6.Saute the chicken on high flame till all water dries up or as per your consistency.
7.Garnish with spring onions and serve hot.
