Today I am bringing One more Coastal Cuisine made using coconut and Indian Hog plums (called amtekai in kannada).
Today being a special day, I wanted to present one of my mom's recipes. Oh yes,it's been a year, that I started blogging.Happy First Blogiversary to BowlOfFoodWithAsh :).
Journey of one year was really awesome. Though initially I thought it would be difficult to manage work and blogging, Passion towards it kept me on.I have learnt and gained so much in this beautiful year. New friends.New recipes, love towards photography and so much. I wish This beautiful journey of blogging continues always.
So today is a real special day which I want to celebrate. On this special day I am very happy to bring one more easy recipe from my mom which we love.We call this curry as amtekai saasime.
This is made using seasonal fruit named Indian Hog Plums and Coconut and other minimal ingredients. This is a spicy, sweet, tangy dish which will be loved by everyone. This can be made using raw mango too.Indian Hog Plums are sour in a taste almost like a raw mango, but it has its own unique taste. This looks like mini raw mango with seed in it, but seed is soft and edible.Sometimes we get big ametkai which is more sweet in nature and the seed is fibrous. We can chew seed and discard. Seed will be Juicy and yummy.I Love this simple dish. We can have this with rice and rasam or simple dal.
Do try and I am sure you will love it.
