Jackfruit idli is sweet idli made from jackfruit, coconut, jaggery and rice rava.
April-May is the summer holidays season. It just reminds my childhood days, grandma's home, village fair, mangoes, jackfruit, whole day playtime with cousins and lots of fun
All cousins used to sit and eat lots of mangoes from our farm and how we used to eat is, no yellow mark was left on seed and sometimes we end up eating jackfruit so much that we get stomach pain...
The summer season brings lots and lots of memories...
Though we get jackfruit in Bangalore, we used to get in limited quantity and eat as it is. This time we got whole fruit and got a chance to do these yummy idlis which mom used to make. It's so flavourful, colourful, sweet and mouthwatering. It's very easy to make and it doesn't need any fermentation. So let's do it quickly.

Directions:
1.Blend the jackfruit pods, jaggery, coconut and cardamom to a fine paste without adding much water ( fruit releases water).Transfer to a mixing bowl.
2.Add salt and rice rava and mix it well and keep aside for 15-20 min. Rava will absorb water.
3.Check the consistency of the batter. Add water only if required. The batter will be thicker than regular idli batter. It will not fall freely from a spoon.
6.Let it steam for 12 to 15 min. Check the idlis with a toothpick. if it's coming clean, then it is done.
7.Switch off and allow to cool for 5-6 minutes.
